Jersey City Man Found Fatally Shot In Apartment: Prosecutors

The victim has been identified in a fatal Jersey City shooting.

JERSEY CITY, NJ — A Jersey City man was shot to death on Tuesday night, prosecutors say.

Omar Smith, 38, was found dead in an apartment at 200 Cornelison Ave., said the Hudson County Prosecutor's Office on Wednesday.

Prosecutors said the police were notified around 8 p.m. of an injured male. He was found with an apparent gunshot wound and was pronounced dead at the scene.

A person of interest has been identified, but the name has not been released, prosecutors said.
