Jersey City Schools Close For Snow Day, And Other Blizzard Updates

JERSEY CITY, NJ — Jersey City is under a blizzard warning through 6 p.m. on Monday.
The public schools are closed for Monday.
In the latest forecast, the NWS said Hudson County would get 1 to 3 inches of snow on Sunday, then 11-17 inches on Sunday night into early Monday, and 3-7 inches on Monday before 4 p.m.

Mayor James Solomon said people can leave their cars on snow emergency routes if they are parked legally. But he asked people not to park on corners, crosswalks, or near fire hydrants. More information can be found at JCNJ.org/advisory
Those with no heat or housing can go to St. Lucy's Shelter on Grove Street or PERC in Union City. Call 201-604-2600 for help.

"Travel could be very difficult," the National Weather Service noted. "Areas of blowing snow could significantly reduce visibility. The hazardous conditions could impact the Monday morning and evening commutes. The combination of gusty winds and heavy wet snow could bring down tree branches."
