Winter Storm Targets Jersey City: Latest Snow Forecast, Parking Details, Cancelations

JERSEY CITY, NJ — The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm warning for Jersey City from 3 a.m. Sunday to 6 p.m. on Monday night.

The latest forecast for Hudson County calls for snow to start after 7 a.m. Sunday. The area will get 7-11 inches of snow during the day, 1-3 inches at night, and less than half an inch on Monday before 1 p.m. Winds could gust as high as 33 MPH.

The city of Jersey City issued an advisory with information about parking, preparations, and shoveling. They said the city has parking lots for those who must move their cars from emergency routes, and advised residents to check on their elderly neighbors. The advisory can be found here.
Regarding parking, they said:

- Vehicles parked on Snow Emergency Routes may be towed during snow operations
- Find which streets are emergency routes at jcnj.org/advisory or view this Google Map (and included below)
- Check posted signage on your street to determine if it is a Snow Emergency Route
Public parking lots:
- Open Saturday at 9 a.m. and will close Monday at 5 p.m.

- Residents are encouraged to park in their driveways if possible
Events are already being canceled around Hudson County, including an opening reception for Hoboken Historical Museum's new exhibit on local photography clubs from the turn of the last century. The Museum will now remain closed until Feb. 1, with the reception from 2-5 p.m. on that new day.
