NJ 211 Information Program Set At Lacey Library

FORKED RIVER, NJ — The Lacey Branch of the Ocean County Library will host an overview of NJ 211 at 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 2, giving local residents a chance to learn about a statewide service that connects people with health and human service resources. The program also will be offered virtually over Zoom.

NJ 211 is a statewide nonprofit that provides information and referral for New Jersey residents facing a crisis or dealing with a disaster. The organization maintains a directory of more than 6,300 government and nonprofit programs, according to the announcement. That directory is continually updated by a team of curators to keep program information current.

The program in Forked River will be presented by Carissa Munoz, communications specialist for NJ 211. NJ 211 is known for a one-to-one approach to service. People who dial 211 reach someone who listens and helps guide them to the health and human service resources they need, according to the announcement.

The service is free, confidential, multilingual and available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, the announcement says. Residents who want more information about the service can visit nj211.org or dial 211.
