Lawrenceville's Jamie Ding Wins 25th Straight 'Jeopardy!' Game, Tops $702K
The Lawrenceville resident and Princeton grad has banked $702,000 and is closing in on James Holzhauer's 32-game record from 2019.

LAWRENCEVILLE, NJ — Lawrenceville resident Jamie Ding extended his "Jeopardy!" winning streak to 25 games on April 16, surpassing $702,000 in total earnings and cementing his place among the quiz show's all-time greats.
Ding, a 33-year-old bureaucrat and law student described on the show as hailing from Lawrenceville, New Jersey, now ranks No. 5 in the program's history for most consecutive wins, according to the "Jeopardy!" Leaderboard of Legends. With his Thursday victory, he claimed sole possession of fifth place by surpassing 2022 champion Mattea Roach, who won 23 straight games. He is also ranked sixth on the show's list of highest regular-season winnings, less than $50,000 away from passing 21-game champion Cris Pannullo for fifth place.
The next benchmark in his sights is James Holzhauer's 32-game streak from 2019. Ken Jennings, the show's current host, still holds the all-time record of 74 consecutive wins, set in 2004.

Ding's dominance has been statistical as well as cumulative. Of his 25 games, 19 have been runaways, meaning he held an insurmountable lead going into Final Jeopardy, according to The Jeopardy! Fan. Heading into his 25th game, he had answered 783 clues correctly against just 61 incorrect responses. During one episode last month, he tied Jennings' record of 45 correct answers in a single game, according to The Detroit News.
The streak is a continuation of the historic run first chronicled by Patch's Lawrenceville site, which reported in March that Ding had broken Jennings' single-game Coryat score record of $39,200 — a measure of correct responses before wagering — with a $42,400 mark in his third game. "A new record for the season. How high will he go?" Jennings said at the time.

Ding is a 2013 Princeton University graduate with a degree in molecular biology and has worked at the New Jersey Housing and Mortgage Finance Agency since 2021, where he administers the low-income housing tax credit program. He is pursuing a law degree as a weekend student at Seton Hall University Law School.
Off the board, Ding co-runs an Instagram account with his sister dedicated to reviewing General Tso's chicken at Chinese restaurants.
Episodes of "Jeopardy!" are taped months in advance, meaning the outcome of Ding's streak has already been determined. The show airs weekdays in syndication and streams the next day on Hulu and Peacock.
