New Pizzeria From DeLorenzo Family Opens In Hamilton

HAMILTON, NJ — Mayor Jeff Martin and Councilwoman Nancy Phillips joined owner Tyler DeLorenzo, his family, friends and community members for the grand opening and ribbon cutting of DeLorenzo's The Burg at 147 Sloan Avenue.

The restaurant continues a family tradition that dates back nearly 90 years. The DeLorenzo name has been associated with the community since 1938, when Tyler DeLorenzo's great-grandfather purchased a building that became home to the family's first restaurant.

Tyler DeLorenzo graduated from the Institute of Culinary Education in New York City and worked at DeLorenzo's on Sloan Avenue, Eno Terra in Kingston, and Moshe and Itzy's in Newtown, Pennsylvania, before launching the DeLorenzo's Pizza On The Go food truck.

He opened his first brick-and-mortar DeLorenzo's The Burg location in Levittown, Pennsylvania, in 2017, and the Hamilton restaurant marks his second location.

In a Facebook post prior to the opening, Tyler DeLorenzo, owner of DeLorenzo's The Burg, said the new restaurant has no business connection to the dispensary next door, which he said occupies a separate space in the same building, or to the previous owners of DeLorenzo's Pizza on Sloan Avenue. That restaurant, owned by Rick DeLorenzo Jr. and operating under a separate branch of the family, was seized by the New Jersey Division of Taxation in March 2025 for non-payment of taxes.

"This is an exciting opportunity for me to continue the legacy of my grandfather, and restore the community of Hamilton's faith in the brand that he worked so hard to build," Tyler DeLorenzo, owner of DeLorenzo's The Burg, wrote in the post.

Guests at DeLorenzo's The Burg can order handcrafted pizzas, classic Italian dishes, sandwiches, salads and house specialties, along with a gluten-free pizza option.

"Family-owned businesses like DeLorenzo's The Burg are what make Hamilton Township such a special place," Martin said. "The DeLorenzo family has built a reputation over generations, and we are excited to see Tyler continue that tradition here in Hamilton."
