The “Pieces of the Dream” Mini Mural, created in honor of Martin Luther King Jr.’s legacy, is now on display at Livingston Town Hall through March 6, 2026. This community art project was part of the annual MLK Day of Service, an initiative led by the Livingston Committee for Diversity and Inclusion (LCDI) to inspire reflection, creativity, and unity beyond the holiday itself.
This year’s mini mural project was facilitated by Simone Anthony-Brown, LCDI member, artist, and Founder of Express Yourself Studios, with the support of student volunteers from the Livingston High School National Art Honor Society.

The mural features 56 vibrant 8 x 8-inch canvases, each painted by families throughout Livingston. While each canvas stands on its own as a creative expression, together they form a colorful and unified artwork inspired by Dr. King’s message of hope, community, and shared purpose.
Participants were invited to create bright, abstract backgrounds using color, pattern, and shape, making space for everyone to contribute, no matter their age or artistic experience.
