Whole Foods Opens New Monmouth County Location: See Where

The new store features a seafood counter, fresh produce, floral items, a full-service meat counter and more.

EATONTOWN, NJ — Whole Foods has officially opened its newest store in Monmouth County.

Located on Route 35 South in Eatontown, Whole Foods officially opened on Wednesday morning, marking one of the latest additions to the in-development shopping center, Monmouth Square.

At the store's grand opening event, the first 300 customers in line were able to receive a limited-edition Eatontown tote bag and a Secret Saver coupon featuring savings up to $100 off.

To celebrate the opening, Whole Foods Market also provided a refrigerated van and food donation to NJ Rise, which makes regular surplus food pickups from local Whole Foods Market stores to help prevent food waste and serve the surrounding community.

"The donations are through Whole Foods Market’s Nourishing Our Neighborhoods program, which aims to enhance the ability of local food rescue organizations to transport surplus food to areas facing the greatest need," the company said in a store opening announcement. "Whole Foods Market will also provide a monetary donation to NJ Rise."

Some of the details about the new Eatontown Whole Foods include:

  • The store has over 1,000 local items from the Northeast.
  • The décor inspiration is sunny and modern, with sea-inspired elements, including a bright, pastel color palette combined with neutral tones and raw wood.
  • All fresh produce and floral items meet their Pollinator Health Policy to reduce the use of chemical pesticides.
  • Local options include shiitake mushrooms from Mushroom King Farm, salad kits from Ark Foods, tinned vegetables from Row 7 Seed Company, EverCrisp apples from Hudson River Fruit and tomatoes, squash and leafy greens from Lancaster Farm Fresh.
  • A seafood counter provides fresh fish and ready-to-cook and ready-to-eat seafood, as well as a variety of packaged smoked items. All offerings are either sustainable wild-caught or responsibly farmed. Local options include seafood cakes, stuffed clams casino and stuffed bay scallops from Lagniappe Foods.
  • A full-service meat counter features animal-welfare certified selections and expert butchers available to cut steaks and poultry to order. Features include made-in-house fresh sausage and marinated and seasoned meats.
  • The store offers an artisan cheese selection and a bakery department, including artisan bread from Bread Alone Bakery, breads and pastries from BalthazarBakery and sliced sandwich breads from Paind’Avignon.

The new store's regular hours will be 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily.
