Are you tired of your dog walking you? This three-week clinic is designed to help you teach your dog to walk politely on a leash. Teaching a dog loose leash walking takes practice and skill on the part of both dog and handler. Owners will learn proper leash-handling techniques, and the dogs will learn that walking on a leash has never been so much fun!
PRE-REQUISITE for this course is COMPLETION of a BASIC class. Payment is required upon registration to hold your spot.

On April 19, 1775, a company of Colonial Militia stood fast against a battalion of British Regulars on the green at Lexington, Massachusetts to prevent their weapons and supplies from being seized. No one knows who fired the first shot, but it was the beginning of the War for American Independence.
Continuing the library's celebration of America's Semiquincentennial, Presenter John Dwyer, retired United States Army Colonel with more than 37 years of service will share his knowledge of this important time in NJ history. John is a Jersey native, military historian with extensive collections of soldier gear and equipment from both the Revolutionary War period as well as World War II. John will dress in period gear to bring to life the soldiers of the Revolutionary war, from what they wore, ate, how they fought, and more. In Basic class, we will cover behaviors such as sit, down, wait, stay, recall, loose leash walking, leave it, drop it, and more! We will also start to add some distance, distraction, and duration to some of these behaviors and help incorporate them into everyday situations such as “wait there while I answer the door” or “sit on the scale so the vet tech can record your weight”. Our trainers are here to help you every step of the way!
This 6-week, 1-hour class is open to any dog 5 months or older. Payment is required upon registration to hold your spot.
