Long Valley Man Who Assaulted 10-Year-Old Gets Sentenced

LONG VALLEY, NJ — A Long Valley man who sexually assaulted a 10-year-old multiple times has been sentenced to prison, officials said.

Gregory Rademacher, 72, pleaded guilty in November 2025 to sexual assault and endangering the welfare of a child charges. He was sentenced to prison on Aug. 28.

The sentencing comes just over a year after an investigation revealed that Rademacher had been sexually assaulting a child for roughly a year

According to an affidavit of Rademacher’s arrest, the 10-year-old victim would often swim in his pool, supervised only by Rademacher himself.

When swimming, Rademacher would touch the victim’s private parts, over the pants, for his own “sexual arousal or gratification,” according to police records.

Additionally, Rademacher is accused of showing the 10-year-old victim a sex toy, instructing him how it works, and what to do with it.

Police added that Rademacher told the boy he would kill himself if he’d ever told the police about his actions.

This abuse took place from July 2024 to July 2025, according to investigators.

After the victim told his mom about Rademacher’s actions, who in turn told the police, a search warrant of his residence was executed. Investigators found several electronic devices containing child porn, numerous sex toys, and items of children’s clothing.

Rademacher was originally charged with sexual assault, two counts of endangering the welfare of a child, possession of child sexual abuse material, and witness tampering. A plea deal brought the charges down to second-degree sexual assault and third-degree endangering the welfare of a child.

He was sentenced to five years in prison, as well as a three-year sentence to run concurrently. When released, Rademacher must adhere to Megan’s Law, be under parole supervision for life, and have no contact with the victim.
