Madison Expected To Proclaim Bottle Hill Day, OK Beer Garden At Wednesday Meeting
The Oct. 2 fall festival celebrating the borough's colonial history is set to be officially recognized at the May 27 council meeting.
MADISON, NJ — The Madison Mayor and Council is set to officially proclaim Saturday, Oct. 2, as Bottle Hill Day and authorize a beer garden at its regular meeting Wednesday night.
The annual fall festival celebrates Madison's colonial history — the borough was originally known as Bottle Hill before being renamed Madison in 1834. One of Morris County's most beloved community traditions, the street festival draws thousands of residents and visitors to the downtown each fall for live music, local vendors, food, and family activities.
This year's event will again feature a beer garden as part of the day's festivities. The formal proclamation and beer garden authorization are on the consent agenda for Wednesday's meeting, signaling broad council support for the event.
