Join us at the Mahwah Museum on Sunday, November 15th at 2:00 p.m. for a discussion of a 29-year friendship, rare memorabilia, and the story behind Les Paul’s home with Mahwah Mayor Jim Wysocki from his nearly three-decade friendship with legendary musician and inventor Les Paul.
Their friendship began when Wysocki was a police officer, and Paul needed his driveway plowed. Over the next 29 years, Wysocki helped Paul manage the many gifts and Gibson guitars that accumulated at his home.
Paul often gave Wysocki guitars, gadgets, and other gifts. Among them was a bottle of Krug champagne that Paul received from British Airways after flying aboard the Concorde with Eric Clapton, Paul McCartney, and Jeff Beck. Wysocki will bring this item and other memorabilia to the program.
After the presentation, attendees will have an opportunity to handle and play with selected items. Wysocki will also discuss the facts surrounding the sale of Les Paul’s house, a subject that has recently drawn considerable attention on social media.
