BERGEN COUNTY, NJ — A Bergen County resident who taught religious education for decades died on Monday at 94, her obituary said.
Alice M. Hennessy was born in the Philippines, one of ten children, and almost died as a baby, but recovered, according to her obituary. She went on to live a fulfilling life, including teaching CCD religious classes in the New York area for almost 40 years. "She was known for always carrying and giving out candy — to her CCD students after each class, to her friends, and even to her doctors," her obituary says.
Hennessy died at home and Norwood and is survived by family in Bergen County. Her services will be held next week. See her obituary here.
