Manalapan Police reported five theft-related incidents from March 18 through March 24.
MANALAPAN, NJ — Manalapan Police reported incidents of theft, fraud, harassment and more from March 18 through March 24.
March 18
A 39-year-old Manalapan resident reported that someone threatened to release explicit photos of the victim if they didn’t send them payment. The victim then sent $3,000 to the suspect. The report is pending further investigation.

A suspicious incident was reported regarding the possible attempted theft of jewelry from a 93-year-old resident of a Manalapan assisted living facility. The suspects involved were known to the victim.
March 19

A 72-year-old Manalapan resident reported that there were unauthorized purchases made online using their debit card by someone they didn’t know. The total amount in fraudulent purchases was $1,599.36, which the victim is disputing with the bank.
A 43-year-old Manalapan resident reported that someone opened four credit cards in the victim’s name and tried to charge a total of $23,000 on the credit cards. The charges were not approved and the victim does not appear to be at any monetary loss.
March 21
At 7:12 p.m., a Manalapan resident was found to be operating a vehicle that had become disabled and was suspected of driving while intoxicated.
The driver was arrested on the scene and charged with driving while intoxicated before being brought to police headquarters, where they were processed and released pending a future court date. The driver was issued several traffic citations.
March 22
A 23-year-old Manalapan resident reported that they received several text messages from someone threatening them with physical harm.
March 23
At 9:38 a.m., patrol officers responded to a home that was under construction in Manalapan for a report of $1,280 worth of stolen construction materials.
A 24-year-old Manalapan resident reported that on Feb. 28, someone withdrew $580 from their bank account from an ATM located in Manalapan.
March 24
A 74-year-old Manalapan resident reported that someone unlawfully removed $230 in various tools they had left near the street of their property to use to replace their mailbox.
A 66-year-old Columbus, NJ resident reported an incident of harassment. The victim reported that they are receiving harassing text messages from a 32-year-old Cream Ridge, NJ resident.
