Neptune Twp. EMT Dies At Work

NEPTUNE TOWNSHIP, NJ — A longtime member of Neptune Township EMS squad died Monday morning while at work.

Bil Rosen died shortly after he reported for duty Monday, said Neptune Twp. Mayor Kevin McMillan. His death was also confirmed by Monmouth County Sheriff Shaun Golden.

McMillan said he did not immediately know Rosen's cause of death.

"He worked as an EMT in this town for 15 years and served with dedication, professionalism and commitment," said the Neptune Twp. mayor. "Bil was a special person who loved his job and loved his community .... He was always in jovial spirits. Most of all, he loved his family.”

"Neptune is a better palace for having him work here," the mayor added. “Neptune Township is a better place because of Bil’s service, and we’ll miss him.”

Rosen was also a deputy EMS coordinator for Monmouth County's Office of Emergency Management (OEM).

"Bil was a valued member of the Monmouth County Sheriff’s Office OEM EMS, serving as a Deputy EMS Coordinator, and was a true leader within New Jersey’s EMS community," said the county sheriff. "His loss will be deeply felt by multiple agencies across the county and throughout the state ... Bil was a family man who took tremendous pride and joy in seeing his son follow in his footsteps and begin a career in EMS ... The public safety family has lost an exceptional individual."
