Maplewood 2026 Primary Election Results For Town Committee Race (UPDATED)
Three Democratic candidates competed for two seats on the committee: Victor DeLuca, John Sullivan and Martin Ceperley.

MAPLEWOOD, NJ — Maplewood voters went to the polls on Tuesday to cast ballots in the 2026 primary election.
Two seats on the Maplewood Township Committee are up for election this year. Terms last for three years.

Democratic and Republican candidates competed for their party’s nomination. The winners will match up against any independent or third-party candidates in a general election on Nov. 3.
No Republicans filed to run in Maplewood, likely leading to an easy pathway to victory in November for the candidates who win the Democratic primary election.

With 100 percent of districts reported, it appears that Victor DeLuca and John Sullivan have emerged as the winners. Here are the uncertified results, according to the Essex County Clerk’s Office.
Vote for two:
- Victor DeLuca – 3,417 votes (39.38%)
- John Sullivan – 2,869 votes (33.06%)
- Martin Ceperley – 2,391 votes (27.56%)
