Simone Anthony-Brown to Exhibit New Work in Wellness in Bloom: A Reproductive Justice & Health Equity Exhibit
Essex County mixed media artist explores maternal health, emotional well-being, and healing through layered botanical collages art

Essex County, NJ — Artist Simone Anthony-Brown, Founder of Express Yourself Studios, will present new mixed media collage work as part of Wellness in Bloom, a group exhibition featuring 12 artists whose practices engage themes of reproductive justice, maternal health, and emotional well-being.
Anthony-Brown’s work for this exhibition builds on her Sacred Beginnings series, a body of mixed media collages that centers the lived experiences of women through layered imagery, botanical forms, and textured surfaces. Her pieces explore maternal health and emotional wellness through a visual language that blends black-and-white photographic imagery with painted and organic elements, creating compositions that reflect both vulnerability and strength.
Rooted in themes of care, protection, and renewal, Anthony-Brown’s work considers the body as a site of both personal and collective experience. Through the integration of botanical imagery and handwritten text, her collages evoke the cycles of growth, rest, and resilience that shape maternal and emotional well-being.
