3 Monmouth County School Districts Among Best In NJ, New Ranking Says

The ranking and analysis from Money Inc. examined 30 of New Jersey's highest-performing school districts from across the state.

MONMOUTH COUNTY, NJ — Three Monmouth County school districts have been ranked among the best in New Jersey, according to a new ranking and analysis from Money Inc.

According to the list, rankings from multiple education services helped to identify the districts that “consistently demonstrate excellence across various metrics.”

Money Inc’s guide examines 30 of New Jersey's highest-performing school districts across different regions of the state and analyzes what factors contribute to each district’s rankings.

“The best school districts in New Jersey distinguish themselves through strong test scores, experienced teachers, comprehensive programs, and supportive learning environments that prepare students for college and career success,” according to the guide.

Here’s which Monmouth County school districts made the list, along with their rankings:

  • Colts Neck Township Schools (Rank #15)
  • Millstone Township Schools (Rank #17)
  • Fair Haven Public Schools (Rank #29)

In an online post, NJ State Senator Vin Gopal shouted out the LD11 school districts included in Money Inc’s ranking, and thanked the educators who contribute to New Jersey’s schools.

“Thank you to all the teachers and support staff for all you do each and every day all over New Jersey!” Gopal said. “Congratulations to both Superintendents as well!”

This is far from the first time Monmouth County school districts have ranked among the best in the Garden State.

In Niche’s ranking of the 2026 Best Public High Schools in America, several Monmouth County high schools made the top 50, including those in Lincroft, Freehold, Middletown, Neptune, Wall, Rumson and Holmdel.

Similarly, in U.S. News & World Report’s 2025-26 Best High School Rankings, four Monmouth County high schools made the list of the Top 25 in New Jersey, with one of those schools even coming in first place.

Outside of academics, Monmouth County high schools have also ranked among the best in the state for athletes, including multiple that made Niche’s 2026 ranking of the Best High Schools for Athletes in New Jersey.
