The Monmouth County Republican Party cover-ups, whitewashes, and makes excuses

The Monmouth County Republican Party posted this on their Twitter account and Facebook page, where they have me blocked because they don't like being criticized and having their corruption exposed.

The truth of the matter is that 6,600 non-citizens were wrongly registered to vote as a result of a software workflow error at the Motor Vehicle Commission (MVC). This led to fewer than 400 of those non-citizens voting. This is election fraud, but what the Monmouth County Republican Party and New Jersey GOP don't want you to know is that those less than 400 non-citizens of the 6,600 who were mistakenly registered to vote were from multiple political parties, not just Democrats like they would want you to believe, and that less than 400 is important, but it's such a miniscule number that it doesn't change the result of any of the elections that took place in 2023, or 2024, where those noncitizens voted.

And they want to accuse Governor Sherrill of a cover-up, but the only reason we have this information is because Governor Sherrill brought it to light after Governor Murphy refused to. There is no cover-up; immediately after discovering this, Governor Sherrill took actions to mitigate it. For starters, she ordered the New Jersey Division of Elections to immediately remove all 6,600 affected registrations from the state voter rolls and send formal notification letters to impacted residents. Then she directed her Chief Counsel to launch an investigation into how the glitch occurred, why it took a year to patch the software, and why the prior administration did not purge the registrations or notify the public when the system error was identified in 2024.

Furthermore, she initiated the process to replace IDEMIA, the technology contractor responsible for the system, with technology provider Thales. And finally, she held a State House press conference on July 21, 2026, to publicly announce the details, emphasizing a policy of immediate transparency regarding election administration errors.

There is no whitewashing, there is no cover-up, and there are definitely no excuses. Governor Sheriff saw fraud, ordered the removal of those 6,600 wrongfully registered voters from the voter rolls, and launched an investigation into it; then she initiated the process to replace the technology contractor responsible for the system and the voter glitch, and finally she held a State House press conference to publicly announce the details, emphasizing a policy of immediate transparency regarding election administration errors.

Governor Sheriff saw fraud, took action, ordered an investigation into it, and held a press conference at the State House to announce a policy of immediate transparency regarding election administration errors. This was not a cover-up, a whitewashing of the events, or an array of excuses; this was a Governor taking action to remove the fraud, to enact policies to make sure this doesn't happen again, and to be fully transparent regarding election administration errors for the foreseeable future.

And the Monmouth County Republican Party wants to talk about a cover-up, whitewashing of events, and making excuses. Well, let's talk about it again. The Monmouth County Republican Party refused to be transparent about the Republican Controlled County Commission in Monmouth voting to illegally raise their own wages by 3,000, including the wages of the Party Boss and the Monmouth Republican Sheriff, Shaun Golden, by $42,210 over a period of five years. The same Party also illegally investigated their own county clerk, current Monmouth County Republican Co-Chair and New Jersey Republican Party Chair, Christine Hanlon, who pretends to be a moderate but is actually an extremist election-denying Republican.

The Monmouth County Republican Party and government also wasted nearly a million in taxpayer money on a failed attempt to seize a private airport. They also raised taxes on all of us by 21-23 million last year. The same County Party and government also refused to attend the only debates in Monmouth County as held by the League of Women Voters last year. Their Party Chair and Monmouth County Sheriff, Shaun Golden, also blocked a woman from his official government account simply for disagreeing with him. The Monmouth County Republican Party also blocked me from their Facebook page because they can't handle criticism and having their corruption exposed, as I previously mentioned.

The Monmouth County GOP also endorsed a candidate against Current Democratic Congressman Herb Conaway, who was accused by his ex-wife of allegedly hitting her and was found guilty by his own police department of doing so, alongside other things. The Monmouth County Republican Party also has a County Commissioner who berated a worker for disagreeing with his organization's decision to euthanize a dog, and threatened to cut the throats of people whom he deemed rude. The Congressional Candidate who's running against Herb Conaway, who was found guilty of hitting his ex-wife, that the Monmouth County GOP endorsed is called Michael McGuire, who's currently the Republican Nominee in that race, partly due to the endorsement and support of the Monmouth County Republican Party. And the County Commissioner with the temper issues that I mentioned is called Ross Licitra, and thankfully, he's not running for re-election this year.

Also, the Monmouth County Republican Party wants to pretend to care about election fraud when their own County Clerk, Monmouth County Republican Co-Chair, and New Jersey Republican Chair, Christine Hanlon, let fraud happen under her watch, with two people illegally voting in elections because of her incompetence. So if you guys want to talk about covering things up, whitewashing, and making excuses, start by looking in the mirror.
