Kenny Simmons is a Matawan, New Jersey writer, producer, musician and lifelong entertainer. He performed for eight years as a backup musician with the Commodores and spent 23 years as a lead singer with The Infernos. Following his retirement from live performance, Simmons turned his attention to writing and producing original books, music, films and video-podcast programming through Phoenix Atlantis Entertainment and Kenny Simmons Media.
His newest creation is The Underground Lounge, an original video podcast that draws audiences into frightening worlds where folklore, imagination and hidden truths collide.
The series returns July 15, 2026, with Episode #3, “The Legend of the Monkey Cat.”
Set against the dark backroads of Manalapan, New Jersey, the episode explores the horrifying legend of a creature authorities supposedly tried to bury forever. What begins as whispers in the woods escalates into claw marks, bloodstained secrets and a nightmare too terrifying to explain.
