High Technology High School Named No. 1 STEM High School In The Nation

LINCROFT, NJ — Not only is High Technology High School in Lincroft the best high school in New Jersey, which is already a stunning accolade.

But High Tech is also the No. 1 STEM high school in the United States.

This is according to the latest rankings, released this week, by U.S. News & World Report.

High Technology High School was ranked the No. 1 high school in New Jersey and the 28th best high school in the nation.

High Tech is located in the Lincroft section of Middletown, and it's part of the Monmouth County Vocational School District. Students have to apply to High Tech and it's very difficult to be accepted. There is a very strong emphasis on engineering at High Tech.

Three additional schools in the Monmouth County Vocation School District were also recognized among the top high schools in New Jersey and the nation. They are:

Biotechnology High School in Freehold, ranked No. 4 in New Jersey and No. 72 nationally

Marine Academy of Science and Technology (MAST) on the tip of Sandy Hook, ranked No. 11 in New Jersey and No. 156 nationally

The Academy of Allied Health and Science was ranked No. 19 in New Jersey and No. 348 nationally.

The U.S. News & World Report Best High Schools rankings evaluate nearly 27,000 public high schools nationwide.
