Man Stabbed Roommate To Death In Monmouth County, Prosecutor Says

HIGHLANDS, NJ — A Highlands man is accused of fatally stabbing his roommate, said Monmouth County Prosecutor Raymond Santiago.

The alleged killing took place Monday evening in the tiny town of Highlands.

Michael Dunzello, 49, was charged with first-degree Murder and third-degree Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose (a knife).

At approximately 5:58 p.m. Monday, members of the Highlands Police Department responded to the 20 block of North Street for a report of a stabbing. Upon arrival, officers located a man, deceased, suffering from two stab wounds.

The victim was later identified as Angus McDougald, 49.

Dunzello was identified as the individual responsible, said the prosecutor. The case is being investigated by the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Bureau and the Highlands Police Department.
