Annual Music Festival Fundrasier In Millburn Returns For 10th Event

MILLBURN, NJ — Rocktoberfest will return to Taylor Park on Sept. 26 marking the 10th edition of the community festival, dubbed Rocktoberfest X.

Hosted by the Millburn Education Foundation, the event will feature live music, kids’ rides and games, local food vendors, retail and artisan shopping, and a beer and wine garden. Proceeds benefit the Foundation’s work supporting Millburn Township Schools.

Since 1993, the organization has contributed more than $3.5 million to Millburn Public Schools.

This year’s musical lineup will be headlined by Leon & The Peoples, a New York City-based reggae-soul band led by singer-songwriter and actor Leon Robinson. The group’s music blends reggae, soul and pop. Its album Love Is A Beautiful Thing produced a title track that reached No. 3 on Billboard’s Hot Singles Sales chart, followed by “Beautiful,” which reached No. 12.

The lineup also includes Better Late, a Westfield-based cover band performing 1980s, 1990s, alternative and classic rock, and Rini, a Chennai-born, New Jersey-based singer, composer and violinist who was a 2023 Global Music Awards Silver Medalist and a member of the Grammy-nominated Berklee Indian Ensemble album.

The festival’s expanded Inclusivity Zone will return with support from Paper Mill Playhouse and Special Olympics New Jersey. Activities will include crafts and theater workshops from Paper Mill Playhouse and an obstacle course operated by Special Olympics New Jersey. Paper Mill Playhouse will also provide an air-conditioned indoor relaxation space in the Bauer Center for guests seeking a quieter environment.

Rocktoberfest’s sponsors include returning top-tier platinum sponsor Stella Artois, along with platinum-level sponsors the Jodi & Joanna Group, Paige Packaging, Paper Mill Playhouse, The Millburn Standard and Boxcar Bar & Grill. Boxcar Bar & Grill will host live music throughout the day and the official after-party.

To mark the festival’s 10th event, organizers will also hold a community art contest. The winning design will appear on official Rocktoberfest merchandise, with young artists invited to visit the festival website for participation details.
