Healthcare Workers Honored For 'Being Extraordinary Everyday' In South Jersey
Jefferson Health is making sure the light shines just as bright on its non-nursing team members.

BURLINGTON COUNTY, NJ — A South Jersey health system is shining a light on two of its team members for the work they do every day to make patients and their families feel at ease.
Linda Frankenfield, of Hammonton, and Montrese Nickerson, of Sicklerville, were awarded the Being Extraordinary Everyday (BEE) Awards in honor of their effect helping others.
"Everyone is going through something and deserves patience and to feel heard and valued," Montrese told Patch.

The BEE Awards are earned by non-nursing healthcare workers and support staff who aid nurses with compassion, teamwork, innovation, and service.
"Every team member plays an important role, and by supporting one another through effective communication and teamwork, we can create a more comfortable, safe, and positive experience for our patients," said Linda.

Frankenfield is a patient care technician in the intensive care unit (ICU) at Jefferson Stratford Hospital.
During a recent hospitalization, a family called her actions "above and beyond" in how she addressed their medical and nonmedical needs.
Along with her genuine concern for others, Frankenfield turned a difficult, vulnerable time into a sign of dignity, comfort, and healing, Jefferson said.
"I believe my life experiences greatly influenced the care I provide to others," said Linda. "As I have gotten older, I have experienced many different stages...and challenges that have helped me develop empathy, resilience, and compassion."
Nickerson is a unit secretary in the Emergency Department at Jefferson Washington Township Hospital and was recognized for her quick thinking and problem-solving.
She helped her team get important information needed for treatment that led to a patient receiving timely, coordinated care.
The "innovation" in how she aided in this case helped prevent delays and supported informed clinical decision-making.
Still, Montrose credits a lot of her ability to aid others in the way she was raised by her grandmother and the support she feels from those around her.
"The night shift staff at Jeff Wash ED is the best team I could ever ask for. They have taught me so many lessons and helped shape me into such a helpful little bee," Nickerson added.
Honorees are chosen by Jefferson's clinical recognition committee in New Jersey.
