I-295, Rt. 73 Closures To Last For Month In South Jersey: See Where

MOUNT LAUREL, NJ — Drivers who take I-295 and Route 73 are set to see a different traffic pattern for the next month due to priority gas main work, the New Jersey Department of Transportation said.

On Wednesday, the 295 exit ramps to Route 73 were closed and detours were put into place. This includes the Exit 36A ramp to Route 73 south and the Exit 36B ramp to Route 73 north.

Exit 36A Detour

Drivers looking to take Exit 36A to Route 73 S will be directed to continue along I-295 S and take Exit 34B/Route 70 W.

A right turn should then be made onto Route 41/Kings Highway N.

Stay right, and then continue back to Route 73 S.

Exit 36B Detour

Drivers looking to take Exit 36B to Route 73 N will be directed to continue along I-295 N and take Exit 40B/Route 38 W.

After traveling on Route 38 W, stay to the right and take the ramp onto Route 73 N.

Route 73 Lane And Traffic Adjustments

The left lane along Route 73 in both directions on the bridge over I-295 will be closed from 8 p.m. on Thursday until 6 a.m. on Friday.

A single lane of traffic will remain open.

A construction barrier will be installed and the road is being restriped to allow for a traffic shift.

The left lane will stay closed, and traffic will be moved to the right to accommodate a center work zone.

Two lanes of traffic will be utilized for each direction.
