NJ Officer Has Sex With Inmate, Pays Others To Help Cover Up, Officials Say

BURLINGTON COUNTY, NJ — A guard at Federal Corrections Institute Fort Dix was charged after what was discovered as a yearslong sexual relationship with an inmate, court records show.

Jordan Pensak, of North Brunswick, was charged with sexual abuse of an individual in federal custody for her actions on or around January 8.

She is said to have begun the interactions with a man on her unit after April 2024, and would engage in activities in a low-security office while other prisoners were paid to look out for guards.

Two contraband cellphones were also confiscated by authorities with more than 100 graphic images and videos of Pensak and the man on them.

After obtaining a search warrant for Pensak's personal phone, detectives found messages where she referenced the relationship with the inmate that had been going on "for the past year" in a note to an unknown number.

That message was from January.

She also spoke of getting "high" with the inmate while at work.

Pensak appeared to have a pregnancy scare earlier this year, according to a FBI report, in which she messaged who authorities believed was a former inmate asking if he was "ready to be an uncle?"

She then continued talking with the same individual and highlighted the way it would look "If the baby black and my husband white and Korean?!"

Court filings showed that Pensak likely knew she was being monitored after she said inmates "snitched" on her.

She considered leaving her job in order to end the probe and lied to a jail supervisor in order to save the relationship.

"They can't prove nothing," Pensak wrote. "If I quit I think they stop pursuing it."

In February, a text message conversation with an unidentified individual showed Pensak acknowledged she was in trouble with both "sex or contraband."

When asked if she knew that she could be charged criminally and go to jail, she responded "Yes I know."

According to PhillyVoice, Pensak is still employed at Fort Dix as of Wednesday.

Federal Corrections Institute Fort Dix is a low-security prison on the grounds of Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst.

Patch has reached out to the Federal Bureau of Prisons and Pensak's legal representation for comment and is yet to hear back.
