Morris County Memorial Day Ceremony Scheduled

The ceremony in Morristown will include Morris County Distinguished Military Service Medals for local veterans.

MORRISTOWN, NJ — Morris County residents are invited to attend the county's 2026 Memorial Day Observance and a presentation honoring local veterans in Morristown on Wednesday, May 20.

The event is scheduled for 12 p.m. at 10 Court Street, according to the announcement from the Morris County Board of County Commissioners.

The county said the observance will include the Presentation of Morris County Distinguished Military Service Medals to local veterans. The ceremony is set to take place rain or shine at the Records and Administration Building in Morristown.

For people who cannot attend in person, the county said the event will be livestreamed on the Morris County Government Facebook page. The announcement also says hot dogs and refreshments will be served.

The county included a weather plan for the event. In the event of inclement weather, the ceremony will be moved indoors to the Commissioners Public Meeting Room 555 on the fifth floor of the Administration and Records Building.
