Community Launches Effort To Revive Newark Boys Chorus School
The proposed school – which would be known as the Newark Chorus and Performing Arts Charter School – would serve both boys and girls.

NEWARK, NJ — Alumni, supporters, educators, and community members will gather on Friday, May 15 for a special reunion and revival event focused on efforts to bring back the legacy of the former Newark Boys Chorus School.
Supporters will hold their revival event from 5 to 7:30 p.m. at Just Fish Bar and Lounge, 27 Halsey Street. The event will provide attendees with an opportunity to learn more about the proposed charter school, reconnect with fellow alumni, share memories of the original school, and hear from organizers leading the effort.
According to a news release, the proposed co-ed school – which would be known as the Newark Chorus and Performing Arts Charter School – would serve both boys and girls while continuing the tradition of excellence in music and performing arts education associated with the former Newark Boys Chorus School.
