Irvington Man Saved Lives With Organ Donation, Family And Friends Honor His Memory
Born in the Dominican Republic and raised in the U.S., Ricardo Francis was known for his hardworking ethics and love of family.

Thousands of people recently gathered for the NJ Sharing Network’s 5K Celebration of Life Walk and USATF-sanctioned race, presented by MTF Biologics. The event, which is one of New Jersey’s largest and most recognized charitable 5K events, brought together organ and tissue donor families, transplant recipients, living donors, and volunteers united by a shared commitment to saving and enhancing lives through organ and tissue donation.
Family members and friends of the late Ricardo Francis, 66, of Irvington, walked together as part of the “Richy’s Riches” 5K team to honor his memory and celebrate his lifesaving impact as an organ donor.

Ricardo passed away in October 2024, but his legacy continues through the many lives touched by his kindness and generosity. Born in the Dominican Republic and raised in the United States, Ricardo built a life centered on hard work and creating lasting memories with the people he loved. Known for his sense of humor and infectious smile, Ricardo was deeply devoted to his wife, children, grandchildren, family, and friends.
As an organ donor, Ricardo saved the lives of others, giving them more time to enjoy cherished moments with their loved ones. His gifts continue to inspire the many people who knew and loved him.
