Prudential Awards Newark Community Grants To 100 Local Changemakers

Prudential Financial recently honored the community-building efforts of 100 local people, groups and business owners with grants

NEWARK, NJ — Prudential Financial recently honored the community-building efforts of 100 local people, groups and business owners with grants at its fourth annual Newark Community Grants reception.

Since the program’s launch in 2022, the Prudential Foundation has committed $2.3 million to the Community Foundation of NJ to support the program in providing financial resources to local organizations, small businesses and people with ideas to drive positive change across Newark.

The 2026 program recognized 31 individuals, 36 organizations and 33 small business owners whose project impact areas span the arts, community beautification, community development, education, health, public safety, workforce development and youth development.

“Our Community Grants Program supports local changemakers, organizations and small businesses who have the vision and the drive to create opportunity, build community resilience, and help Newark thrive,” said Jasmyne Beckford, director of inclusive solutions at Prudential Financial.
