Resource Fair At Newark School Will Include Free Groceries, Diapers
The event at Great Oaks Legacy Charter School is free and open to the public.

Newark families will have access to free diapers, groceries, and community resources when Great Oaks Legacy Charter School hosts its Community Resource Fair and Open House on Thursday, March 19 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Fairmount Heights Middle School, 240 14th Avenue in Newark.

The event is free and open to the public and will offer Newark families the opportunity to access essential resources while learning more about Great Oaks Legacy’s tuition-free Pre-K–12 educational programs.
Families attending the event will be able to receive free diapers and groceries while supplies last, thanks to partnerships with organizations committed to supporting Newark families. Ironbound Community Corporation will be supplying the diapers, while groceries will be provided through the partnership of Ironbound Community Corporation and United Community Corporation.

Liberty Dental will also be providing on-site dental screenings, giving families the opportunity to receive basic oral health checks and connect with dental care professionals during the event.
In addition to these resources, families will have the opportunity to connect with local organizations and explore the educational opportunities available through Great Oaks Legacy Charter School. Staff members will be available to answer questions about enrollment and to share more about the school’s approach to preparing Newark students for college success.
“This event reflects what is possible when Newark organizations come together to support families,” said Jared Taillefer, Executive Director of Great Oaks Legacy Charter School. “We are grateful to partner with Ironbound Community Corporation and United Community Corporation to make sure families have access to resources like diapers and groceries while also welcoming them into our schools and showing them what a strong Pre-K through 12 education can mean for their children.”
The event will also provide an opportunity for prospective educators and professionals to learn more about careers at Great Oaks Legacy. The school’s talent team will host on-site job information and screenings for individuals interested in roles in teaching, school operations, and leadership.
Great Oaks Legacy currently educates more than 2,000 students across seven campuses in Newark, guiding scholars from elementary school through high school with a strong focus on rigorous academics, individualized support, and college readiness.
Families attending the Community Resource Fair and Open House will have the opportunity to:
- Receive free diapers and groceries while supplies last
