‘Women’s Health Day’ At Newark Hospital Draws Hundreds Of Attendees

The panel included info about heart health, weight management, cancer care, behavioral health concerns and chronic disease management.

NEWARK, NJ — More than 500 women recently attended a panel discussion on women’s health and wellness sponsored by Newark Beth Israel Medical Center.

The event – held at the Newark Liberty Airport Marriott – included advice on a range of topics, including heart health, weight management, cancer care, behavioral health concerns and chronic disease management. Attendees also participated in interactive wellness activities, fitness demonstrations, and vital health screenings – such as blood pressure, glucose, and pulmonary function testing – and recharged with hands-on wellness activities like yoga, massage, meditation, mindfulness, Zumba and “self-care bingo.”

“Women’s Health Day serves as a reminder that our health matters and deserves our full attention,” said event moderator, Atiya Jaha-Rashidi, chief equity officer and vice president of community relations at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center and Children’s Hospital of New Jersey.
