Man Killed In Pre-Dawn South Plainfield Fire
An early morning fire Wednesday on Cedarbrook Avenue was fatal, claiming the life of an adult man who lived in the home.
SOUTH PLAINFIELD, NJ — An early morning fire in South Plainfield Wednesday was fatal, claiming the life of an adult man who lived in the home, said South Plainfield Police Chief Peter Papa.
The fire broke out at 4:54 a.m. in a home on Cedarbrook Avenue in South Plainfield. Upon arrival, first responders located an unresponsive adult man upstairs.
There were two other adults in the home and they escaped with minor injuries. However, the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

Three local firefighters were also injured putting out the fire. Firefighters from Colonia and surrounding towns responded to help put out the fire, which rose to third-alarm status.
