New Brunswick Man Charged With First-Degree Murder Of His Brother

A man was arrested and charged with the fatal shooting of his brother Sunday afternoon in New Brunswick.

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ — A man was arrested and charged with the fatal shooting of his brother Sunday in New Brunswick, said the Middlesex County Prosecutor.

Hassan Sannoh, 28, of New Brunswick, is charged with first-degree murder for the fatal shooting of his brother, Ahmad Sannoh, 31, also of New Brunswick.

Police say he shot his older brother at 12:42 p.m. Sunday inside a home on Riverside Drive. Ahmad Sannoh was found by police suffering from multiple gunshot wounds and he was rushed to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital where he died.

Hassan Sannoh is being held at the Middlesex County Jail.

"Ahmad was a beloved son, brother, and friend whose kindness and warmth touched everyone who knew him," it read. "In his final moments, he was doing what he always did, showing up for his mother by bringing groceries upstairs ... Ahmad graduated from Bloomfield College in 2018 with a degree in biology. Throughout his life he attended Arabic school on Sundays and learned how to recite the Quran ... Ahmad was a young black scientist, a religious scholar, a ball player, a son, a brother, a friend and more…he was so much more."
