New Providence Police Department Swears In 2 New Officers

Kahleb Hicks and Quinn Lonergan head to the Stamler Police Academy in July.

NEW PROVIDENCE, NJ - The New Providence Police Department welcomed two new officers at the Borough Council meeting Tuesday, May 26, swearing in Kahleb Hicks and Quinn Lonergan as the department's newest members.

Officer Hicks joins the department with experience from the Essex County Department of Corrections. He will head to the John H. Stamler Police Academy in July to complete his waiver course.

Officer Lonergan transitions to frontline patrol from his previous role with Kenilworth Dispatch and will also attend the Stamler Academy in July, where he will begin his basic training.

Both officers were welcomed by the department and Borough Council as they embark on their law enforcement careers.

The John H. Stamler Police Academy, located in Scotch Plains, is one of New Jersey's regional training academies serving municipal police departments across Union County and beyond.
