Motorcyclist Known For Bunny Helmet Dies In Jersey Shore Crash

Brandon Vega, also known as "Bunny Bear" or "Bunny Man," was killed in a crash Friday night.

LOWER TWP., NJ — A motorcyclist who was well known in the community for wearing a bunny helmet died Friday night in a crash.

The crash occurred on Route 47 at 11:46 p.m. Friday in Lower Township, according to State Police data.

Police have not released any details regarding the crash.

However, friends identified the motorcyclist as 26-year-old Brandon Vega, also known as "Bunny Bear" or "Bunny Boy" after his distinctive helmet.

"He had a unique way of making everyday an adventure especially while riding his motorcycle," family wrote in his obituary. "He made so many people, both young and old, smile as he rode pass them on his bike wearing his 'bunny ears' on his way to work at the North Cape May McDonald's or while riding through the streets of Wildwood."

A GoFundMe has been launched to support his family with travel and funeral expenses.

"Brandon touched countless lives in Cape May County, making thousands of friends along the way," the fundraiser reads. "He attended Wildwood High School and worked at McDonald's in North Cape for years, always ready to lend a hand or give you the shirt off his back."

The fundraiser hit $2,700 of its $7,500 goal as of Tuesday afternoon.

"Please consider donating or sharing this fundraiser to honor Brandon's memory and help those who loved him most," the fundraiser reads.
