Ocean City To Host Free Emergency Preparedness Talk

OCEAN CITY, NJ — Ocean City residents and visitors are invited to a free emergency preparedness presentation at 6 p.m. Sept. 17 at the Chris Maloney Lecture Hall in the Ocean City Free Public Library, 1735 Simpson Ave.

The program is being sponsored by the Ocean City Environmental Commission.

According to the announcement, Ocean City Emergency Management Director Frank Donato and retired National Weather Service meteorologist Jim Eberwine will speak during the event. The presentation will focus on how people can stay safe and informed during hurricanes, winter storms, summer storms and other emergencies.

The announcement says the program also will include information on resources people can use before flooding events. Donato will demonstrate information resources, including www.ocnj.us, that anybody can use to anticipate and prepare for flooding events, according to the announcement.

The event is open to the public, and organizers are encouraging anybody interested to attend.
