A Thelonious Monk Competition finalist and member of the Mingus Big Band, he's shared stages and studios with jazz giants like Roy Haynes, Dave Holland, Pat Metheny, Christian McBride, and Chick Corea.
Through his own label, Changu Records, he's released a string of celebrated albums — from his 2005 debut Perspective to 2025's Painter of the Invisible — earning praise in DownBeat, JazzTimes, and The New York Times, two ASCAP Young Jazz Composer Awards, and recognition as one of his generation's most distinctive voices on the saxophone.
