Close Your Windows Overnight In Paramus: Here's Why
Officials are asking people in 2 Bergen County towns to keep windows closed early Monday, including a neighborhood near the Parkway.
BERGEN COUNTY, NJ — Wet, warm weather brings mosquitos who lay eggs, and sting humans. Local towns are trying to cut down.
Bergen County Mosquito Control will be performing an early morning ULV Truck Spray in Paramus near the Garden State Parkway on Monday, meaning it might be useful to close your windows before going to sleep Sunday night.
They are also scheduled to spray in Moonachie. A link to the map is below.

The spraying will take place Monday between 3 and 6 a.m., officials said.
They have previously said, "In compliance with N.J.A.C. Title 7, Chapter 30 the Bergen County Mosquito & Vector Control BCMC may be applying insecticides for the control of adult mosquito populations on an area-wide basis, as needed, throughout Bergen County during the period of April 30, 2026, through October 31."

The following adult mosquito control products will be applied from the ground by truck, handheld equipment, or aircraft, all using low volume (LV) or ultra-low volume (ULV) techniques:
- Duet (Sumithrin/Prallethrin)
- Fyfanon (Malathion)
- Zenivex (Etofenprox)
- ReMoa Tri (Abamectin & Fenpropathrin)
Keep windows closed, officials said.
