6 Candidates Seeking 2 Seats On Point Pleasant School Board

POINT PLEASANT, NJ — Six people have filed candidates' petitions to run for election to the Point Pleasant Board of Education in November.

There are two seats up for election, each of them three-year terms. None of the candidates are running as a team.

Incumbent Natalie Gagliardi-Levine, who was elected in 2023 through a write-in campaign, is seeking a second term on the board. She is running under the "Passion. Pride. Purpose" slogan.

Joseph Mazzaro is running under the slogan "Making A Difference." He is a 2023 Point Pleasant High School graduate and works as a dispatcher in the Brick Township Police Department.

Nicole Capoano is running under the "Listen. Support. Succeed" slogan. She has served on the borough's Environmental Committee.

John A. Dapkins Jr. is running under the slogan "Honesty Integrity Transparency". He is a retired law enforcement officer.

Melissa Berman is running without a slogan. Information on employment or other involvement could not immediately be determined from online searches.

Also running without a slogan is Daniel Gaudette. He is a nurse and a professor of nursing for Hackensack Meridian Health, according to his LinkedIn profile.

Current board member Cheryl Salway, whose term expired Dec. 31, is not seeking re-election.
