Description:  Join Coastline Adventures and Toms River Recreation for this surf camp for beginner to advanced level surfers.  

Requirements:  Participants MUST know how to swim.

Equipment:  Surfboard, leash and rash guards are provided for use during class.  Participants may bring their own rash guards or wetsuits.  Beach badges are NOT required to attend class or for guardians to watch class but are required if participants or guardians plan on staying after class ends.

 Camp Description:

Experience the beauty and energy of the ocean while learning to surf or advance your skills in a welcoming, supportive community of women. Our 3.5-hour Women’s Surf Camp blends skill-building, wellness, and connection for an empowering day at the beach. Small groups allow for personalized attention. Enjoy a qi gong and yoga warm-up to prepare you to learn essential surf fundamentals including ocean safety, surf etiquette, paddling, popping up, wave selection, and riding skills through expert coaching and progressive practice. The camp includes both land and water instruction, and all equipment is provided. Perfect for beginners or anyone looking to refresh their skills and build confidence in the ocean.

Dress for the beach and bring sunscreen, towel, drinks, snacks, if needed, and footwear (bathrooms and hot sand).

 Coastline Adventures Surfing School is accredited by the National Surf/SUP Schools and Instructors Association and brings over 30 years of professional experience providing safe, high-quality surf, bodyboard, and stand-up paddleboard instruction throughout the Jersey Shore. Led by Lance Tompkins and Jennifer Steffener, both NSSIA Certified Master Level Surf Instructors, the school combines nationally recognized training standards with deep local knowledge of Ocean County beaches, bays, tides, and weather conditions. Their approach blends skill development, ocean and bay safety and education, confidence building, fitness, and environmental awareness in a fun, supportive setting. Lance brings over 50 years of surfing experience and decades of teaching board sports, while Jennifer contributes over 30 years of surfing, bodyboarding, paddleboarding, wellness, and movement instruction experience. Together, they have successfully taught thousands of participants through recreation departments, schools, camps, and private programs. Their commitment to professionalism, safety, and community recreation makes them a trusted provider for surf, bodyboard, and paddle programs.
