Cooling Centers Opening In Point Pleasant Beach
Point Pleasant Beach officials said the borough will have spaces for residents in need as extreme heat blankets the area.
POINT PLEASANT BEACH, NJ — With dangerously high temperatures expected to blanket New Jersey through Saturday, Point Pleasant Beach will open a cooling center to provide relief for residents in need.
Borough officials said the cooling centers will be available from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
"Anyone needing information about the location of the Borough's Cooling Centers should contact the Point Pleasant Beach Police Department’s non-emergency line at 732-892-0500," officials said.

The National Weather Service has issued an extreme heat warning for all of New Jersey through 8 p.m. on Saturday, with daytime heat index values of up to 110 degrees and overnight lows in the 80s that "will not offer any relief from the heat."
