Woman's Club of Point Pleasant Supports 2 local high schools with Scholarships & Career Program access.
The Woman's Club has provided scholarships & a 4 day Career learning program at Douglas College to 4 students at 2 Pt. Plsnt. High Schools .
The Woman's Club of Point Pleasant, a member of the New Jersey State Federation of Women's Clubs, provided $3800 in scholarship funds to both the Point Pleasant Borough and Point Pleasant Beach High Schools.
President Terri Niemczyk presented the $1200 Academic Scholarship to Claire Pausz and the $750 Arts Scholarship to Michaela Stevenson at the Boro High School. Jean Blaha presented the $1200 Academic Scholarship to Alli Rose Valeri and the $750 Arts Scholarship to Blake Miles at the Beach High School.
The Woman's Club of Point Pleasant, a member of the New Jersey State Federation of Women's Clubs provided two Junior girls from the Point Pleasant Borough and Point Pleasant Beach High Schools to attend Girls' Career Institute June 1-4 at Douglas College. The four day program on the campus of Douglas College includes speakers, panel discussions, time for sports and service projects and entertainment by the girls themselves. Delegates live in Douglas College dormitories, sharing rooms, and eat in the College cafeteria. Club women serve as staff and "house mothers". Two members of our Club served as "house mothers" and one member as a nurse. Thanks to the vision and enterprise of club women over 75 years ago and with the work and support of club women through today, thousands of girls have had the opportunity to explore career options while experiencing a mini-college experience.
