Bias Intimidation, Terroristic Threats: Princeton Police Blotter

The Princeton police blotter dated Feb. 3 had the following reports:

The following is a summary of incidents as reported by Princeton Police:

PRINCETON, NJ - On Jan. 21, 11:42 a.m., officers responded to Herrontown Road for a report of stolen packages. A resident reported four Amazon-delivered items were taken after being left outside near the main entrance/front door area on Jan. 19. They discovered the items missing at approximately 2:00 p.m. Total value of the stolen items was $118.36. The building manager said that surveillance footage may be available. No suspects are known at this time.

On Jan. 23, 5:59 p.m., officers responded to a business on Palmer Square West, for a report of a past-tense shoplifting. A store employee reported that between 5:29 p.m. and 5:43 p.m., three unidentified men entered the business, requested to view multiple jewelry items, and then left the store with several pieces of jewelry without paying. The suspects were described as three males, approximately 6’ tall, wearing black jackets and dark clothing; two were wearing dark hats (one a knit/winter hat and one a newsboy-style cap). The total reported value of the stolen items was $4,990. The investigation is ongoing.

Stolen items were:

  • 14K small curbed emerald bezel bracelet
  • 14K gold double chain bracelet
  • 14K floating diamond mixed small curb chain
  • 14K gold small curbed chain bracelet, white diamond.
  • Organic turquoise ring with diamond.

On Jan. 23, patrols responded to a business on North Harrison Street for a report of theft/check fraud. The complainant reported that a check issued by their company in the amount of $80,495.12 was intercepted, altered, and cashed. PNC Bank said the check was negotiated on Dec. 12, 2025 and the funds were withdrawn from the account on Dec. 15, 2025. The matter remains under investigation with the bank, and the victim has not been reimbursed. This investigation is on-going.

January 24, officers responded to a home on Hunt Drive for a report of an attempted motor vehicle theft in progress. The caller reported observing two masked suspects enter his open driveway gate and walk toward two vehicles. After the homeowners confronted them, the suspects fled the area in a dark-colored four-door sedan (unknown make/model) and were last seen traveling east toward Winfield Road. Police canvassed the area with negative results, and surrounding agencies were notified. This investigation is on-going. Suspects were described as two Black men, slim build, approx. 6'0" and 5'10", both wearing face masks (one in a white long-sleeve shirt/gray pants; the other in a black hoodie/black pants). Suspect Vehicle: Dark four-door sedan with a straight bar-style rear tail light.

On Jan. 25, officers responded to a home on Thanet Circle for a reported neighbor dispute. The victim reported that her neighbor, a58-year-old man used profane language and repeatedly directed racial slurs toward her. The victim further said that the man threw a coffee maker at/near her front door, causing it to break. The incident was captured on the woman’s Ring camera and reviewed by responding officers. The man was taken into custody and charged with bias intimidation, harassment, and disorderly conduct. During processing, he was found to have multiple active warrants, including four out of Red Bank Borough Municipal Court totaling $3,261.00 full bail, one additional Red Bank Borough Municipal Court warrant with full bail/no 10 percent in the amount of $103.00, and one warrant out of West Long Branch Municipal Court in the amount of $2,000.00 with 10 percent bail. The man was processed and released pending his court appearances.

On Jan. 25, patrols responded to Thanet Circle for a report of harassment between neighbors. A woman reported that her neighbor was yelling racial slurs and profanities outside her apartment door and made statements including “you are dead” and similar threats, causing her to fear for her safety. While officers were on scene, the suspect, a 58-year-old man, allegedly continued yelling the same remarks and was taken into custody. During the arrest and subsequent processing, he allegedly made additional threatening statements toward officers. A complaint-warrant was issued charging him with bias intimidation, terroristic threats, and harassment. The man was processed at headquarters and later taken to the Mercer County Correctional Center.

On Jan. 27, patrols were at a business located on Nassau Street on an unrelated call when they encountered a 44-year-old Princeton man. A warrant check of him revealed an active Princeton Municipal Court warrant in the amount of $4,500 with a 10 percent bail option. He was taken into custody and processed at police headquarters. He was released on his own recognizance and issued a new court date.

On Jan. 28, patrols responded to a business on Nassau Street for a report of identity theft/credit card fraud. The store manager reported that unknown suspects compromised the business email account and used that access to enter the business Walmart account, which had a Capital One credit card on file. The suspects made 14 unauthorized curbside-pickup purchases at Walmart locations in New Jersey and Pennsylvania, primarily for electronics, and deleted confirmation emails to conceal the activity. The business temporarily sustained a monetary loss totaling $12,643.82. The account and card were deactivated, and reimbursement is pending confirmation through the involved parties. No suspects have been identified at this time.

On Feb. 1, patrols responded to Albert Way for a report of a stolen motorcycle. The victim reported that a blue 2007 Yamaha R6 (approx. value $7,000) and its New Jersey license plate were stolen from the parking garage sometime between Jan. 25 and Feb. 1. Officers canvassed the garage area but were unable to locate surveillance footage or physical evidence. No suspects were identified at this time.
