Gallery 14 is pleased to announce Rhythms of the Street, an exhibition of street photography by Nils Huehnergarth. Rhythms of the Street presents a vibrant cross-section of contemporary urban life, drawing together images made across cities around the world. Through his lens, Huehnergarth reveals the tempo, tenderness, tension, and humanity found in public spaces—capturing the fleeting choreography of people moving through their environments in moments that are both spontaneous and deeply expressive.
The exhibition spans a wide emotional and cultural spectrum: a pianist practicing alone in a quiet park; a street performer; children on their walk to school, a pair of bikers showing an easy camaraderie. Huehnergarth highlights the authenticity and individuality of each subject while illuminating the shared rhythms that bind urban life together.
What unites these images is the photographer’s sensitivity to rhythm—rhythms of movement, habit, community, and encounter. Through color, gesture, and atmosphere, Rhythms of the Street invites viewers to pause and notice the everyday poetry that often goes overlooked, celebrating the beauty found in ordinary moments and the people who animate public space.
Free admission to Rhythms of the Street is available from April 11 through May 9, 2026 at Gallery 14 located at 14 Mercer Street in Hopewell NJ. The gallery is open Saturdays and Sundays from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM. A Meet-the-Artist reception will be held on Saturday, April 18, offering visitors the opportunity to speak with the photographer about his work and creative process.
