Skip The Parking Hunt, Hop On Princeton's Free Loop Bus This Fall

PRINCETON, NJ — Do you want to get around town this fall without hunting for parking? Princeton officials want you to hop on the Loop.

Mayor Mark Freda and Council President Michelle Pirone Lambros kicked off the municipality's "Hop on the Loop this Fall" campaign on Sept. 18. They rode the free Loop Express with Princeton University students to the Princeton Shopping Center and explored stops along the route.

"The Princeton Loop Express is helping make it easier for residents, students, and visitors to move throughout our community without relying on a car," Pirone Lambros said. "Whether someone is shopping downtown, connecting to Princeton Station, attending an event, or running everyday errands, the Loop Express offers a convenient, sustainable, and cost-free transportation option."

With the fall calendar filled with festivals, university events, cultural programs, shopping and dining, the municipality is encouraging the use of the Loop to see more of Princeton.

For one student, the Loop has opened up more avenues to explore the town’s famous dining scene.

"The Loop is a game changer for Princeton students. For me, as a foodie, it opens up an unexplored culinary world," Alistair F. Wright, a Princeton University senior, said in a statement. "I've often been unable to go to eye-catching restaurants because they were in the Princeton Shopping Center. Now, I have access to them via a free green bus. Safe to say, the Loop is a dream come true for every hungry Tiger!"

Riders can use the Loop Express to:

• Explore Princeton's shops, restaurants and cultural destinations

• Travel between downtown and the Princeton Shopping Center

• Connect directly to Princeton Station

• Get to events without searching for parking

• Discover and support local businesses

The Princeton Loop runs two free routes that are open to the public:

• Loop Express: Connects the Princeton Shopping Center, downtown Princeton and Princeton Station in about 20 minutes.

• Loop Local: Connects neighborhoods, senior housing communities, shopping areas, community facilities and the central business district.
