The delayed openings follow a winter storm that brought snow, ice, subzero wind chills and more to the Garden State over the weekend.

RED BANK-SHREWSBURY, NJ — Schools throughout the Red Bank and Shrewsbury area will operate on delayed opening schedules on Tuesday due to winter weather conditions.

- Two-hour delayed opening due to weather conditions
Red Bank Regional High School District
- Two-hour delayed opening due to inclement weather
- Lunch will be served

- 90-minute delayed opening
- Students should arrive at bus stops 90 minutes after normal pickup time
- All students should be in Block 1 by 9:15 a.m.
As of Monday evening, Shrewsbury Borough School has not announced a delayed opening for Tuesday on its website. You can check for SBS updates here.
Tuesday’s delayed openings follow snow days across the Garden State that came after a winter storm hit New Jersey with snow, ice, wintry mix, and subzero wind chills over the weekend.
Looking ahead, the National Weather Service is warning residents of dangerously cold temperatures arriving this week, with several nights featuring single-digit temperatures and wind chills below zero.
“Some record lows and record low highs may be in jeopardy later this week,” officials said on Monday. “The stretch begins tonight, with a Cold Weather Advisory in place for the entire area.”
Here’s a look at the National Weather Service’s upcoming forecast for the Red Bank and Shrewsbury area:
- Monday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 10. Wind chill values as low as -3. Northwest wind 10-15 MPH, with gusts as high as 25 MPH.
- Tuesday: Increasing clouds, with a high near 21. Wind chill values as low as -4. West wind 10-15 MPH.
- Tuesday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 10. Wind chill values as low as -1. West wind 5-10 MPH, with gusts as high as 20 MPH.
- Wednesday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 22. West wind 5 to 10 mph, with gusts as high as 20 MPH.
- Wednesday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 8.
- Thursday: Sunny, with a high near 21.
- Thursday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 5.
