Fried Chicken Chain Opens 1st NJ Location: See Details

TINTON FALLS, NJ — A new fried chicken chain has officially opened its first New Jersey location.

Daddy's Chicken Shack, which currently has another location in Austin, Texas, opened the doors to its first New Jersey storefront in Tinton Falls on Friday.

Located on Wayside Road, the soft opening for the restaurant comes ahead of the shack's Grand Opening, which is set to take place from 4-7 p.m. on Thursday.

During this Grand Opening event, attendees will be able to get $1 sandwiches, tenders, fries and bites, with all proceeds going towards JBJ Soul Kitchen.

The restaurant will also offer free t-shirts, prizes and samples.

"Zoom in. Screenshot it. Send it to your hungry friends. Then come see what all the fuss is about," the shack said in an online post.

According to the Chicken Shack website, the chain started in 2018 when chef and entrepreneur Pace Webb was asked to create fried chicken sliders for a celebrity catering event.

“One of the guests, Mandy Moore, boldly proclaimed that this was the ‘best chicken sandwiches I’ve ever tasted,’” the website reads.

From there, Webb and her partner, Chris Georgalas, launched Daddy’s Chicken Shack in Pasadena, California.

By 2021, Dave Liniger, co-founder of RE/MAX and the founder of Area 15 Ventures, took notice of Webb and Georgalas’ desire to franchise, and by 2023, he acquired full ownership of the brand.

Today, Daddy’s Chicken Shack is known for sandwiches such as "The Nashville Daddy," and offers menu options ranging from fried chicken sandwiches to chicken tenders and bites, a chicken salad, biscuits, burritos and more.
