Magda Muka and Michael Parent Appointed to HABcore Board of Trustees

HABcore Inc., the Jersey Shore’s leading nonprofit provider of permanent, supportive housing for people experiencing homelessness, has appointed two new members to its Board of Trustees, bringing the total board members up to 18 representatives.

The board added Magda Muka and Michael Parent, who moved up from the Advisory Council, during the board’s July meeting.

“As we continue to evolve and build capacity to serve the growing unhoused population at the Jersey Shore, it’s critical that our leadership reflects the professional expertise and experience in managing our portfolio of properties,” said Steve Heisman, President and CEO of HABcore. “The expertise on our Board of Trustees helps ensure we remain focused on delivering long-term stability for the people we serve.”

Two New Board of Trustees

• Magda Muka of Red Bank brings a wealth of financial, technical and marketing experience to the board as partner in a software company serving the precast concrete industry. Her business acumen and additional nonprofit experience serving on Monmouth County nonprofit boards will assist HABcore in furthering its mission.
• Michael Parent, of Middletown, brings more than 30 years of investment banking and nonprofit board experience, with a background in arts, hunger, housing and social justice advocacy.
