About the Howard Whitfield Masonic Scholarship
The Whitfield scholarship honors the memory and lifelong achievements of Howard Whitfield. Out of necessity, he began working at age 13 to earn a livelihood and always desired to obtained a degree in liberal arts and/or the sciences. But, Mr. Whitfield was unable to complete his formal education.
Because of his deep and abiding love for Red Bank and Monmouth County, Mr. Whitfield established a scholarship to assist RBRHS graduates in developing their potential, achieving their goal of obtaining a postsecondary education, and becoming successful and productive adults. The scholarship is $4,000.
Applicants should have achieved a cumulative 3.0 GPA or better and will be evaluated based on academic performance, extracurricular activities, community service, work (paid or unpaid), and demonstrated unmet financial need.
To apply, create a profile in the CFNJ online portal and complete the application. Students can also obtain paper applications from the guidance office at RBRHS. The submission deadline is April 6, 2026.
Any questions regarding the scholarship should be directed to Colleen Smith at csmith@cfnj.org or 973-267-5502.
